Workshop Facilitator, Indiana District
As a teacher participant this past year in TEC21, Katie says she was “blown away with the plethora of resources introduced to her and found them extremely engaging and powerful when used in her classroom, most especially with the past school year ending in eight weeks of remote learning. She is excited to join the TEC21 team and share these valuable resources and experiences with fellow teachers, “to better equip them and increase their comfort level with technology in the classroom.”
Katie completed her undergraduate degree with a B.S. in secondary education-social studies at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana (2005). She taught in Greenfield-Central School Corporation for four school years, with a one year-leave from teaching while she completed her M.S. in sport administration at Marshall University, Huntington, West Virginia (2009). Katie accepted a teaching position at her home congregation, Ascension Lutheran School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 2010. She has since taught in the middle grades and serves as athletic director. She completed her colloquy studies through Concordia University, Chicago (2013). She loves to learn and is always finding herself saying “yes” to new educational opportunities.
