As a Lutheran school teacher for the past 26 years, Karla has taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th grades. Currently she serves as a 1st-grade teacher at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School in Boca Raton, Florida. She is a 1994 graduate from Concordia Chicago and holds a MAT from Saginaw Valley State University, including an endorsement as a literacy specialist.
Karla is passionate about teachers helping teachers, and says it was the driving force behind her decision to become a facilitator for the TEC21 program. “Besides learning about ways technology can increase student learning, TEC21 teachers enjoy the gift of time each month to actively explore and implement their newfound knowledge.” Karla loves the way members of the TEC21 cohorts support, encourage and celebrate one another.
